Meet Bre the GNP
Breonna Leon is a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner in the Atlanta Area who serves as a consultant for long-term care facilities in the specialty of Geriatric Psychiatry. She works with her facilities to provide management of psychotropic medications, education to patients, families, and staff, and also ensures that the facilities are in compliance with current Medicare Guidelines.
Breonna began her nursing career as a Certified Nursing Assistant and has always had a passion for Geriatric Care. Breonna believes in providing care that is both patient-focused and in accordance with the most recent evidence-based practice. She works tirelessly to ensure that this vulnerable population is cared for in ways that are holistic in nature. While still enrolled in graduate school Breonna launched her own nonprofit organization, Senior Eats with the mission of ensuring seniors receive education about and access to healthy eating options geared towards chronic health conditions.
Breonna has experience in Home Health as well and truly enjoys being able to enter the homes of individuals who have both physical and social barriers that affect their ability to get to providers. Breonna is a member of the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Breonna completed her undergraduate studies at Clayton State University and holds a Masters Degree in Adult-Gerontology with an interest in Primary Care from George Washington University. She is Board Certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Most importantly, she is a wife to her loving husband Jonathan Leon, and a mother to her two sons Jayden and Jayce. When she is not advocating or educating she is traveling, working out, or enjoying family time.
Her passion to healthcare goes beyond the bedside with her dedication to inspiring and helping other current and future nursing professionals excel in the field.
